Gauss map or spherical map

If we have an inmersed surface $S$ in $\mathbb{R}^3$ we can define a unit normal vector in every point $p \in S$. This way we obtain a smooth map

$$ N: S\rightarrow \mathbb{S}^2 $$

From it we can define the Weingarten map.
